Congratulations to the new champions – three of whom also won their finals in an incident packed day.  Michael Cox did it for the third time in Junior 4-stroke, Daniel Graham won the Junior TKM and Matt Bell the Intermediates. Simon Mills had enough points in hand to clinch the 4-stroke senior title without needing to race in the final.  Adam Constable finished just behind Extreme winner Ryan Cole for his first national title.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula Jnr. TKM

Heat winners: Daniel Graham x 2, Marcus Allen.

A Final: Graham was right on form for his first S1 win of the year, clinching the championship in style.  Jake Ball momentarily had second from Jake Packun, but after falling back to third when Marcus Allen came through, he retired.  Packun and Allen traded second, Allen’s slight mistake down the hill leaving him third.  Danny Fiske chased Jesse Smart from the sixth row to 4th and 5th.

Results: Graham, Packun, Allen, Smart, Danny Fiske, Joe Porter.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Extreme

Heat winners: Steven Bartlett, James Duxbury, Ryan Cole x 2, Adam Rodgers.

B Final: Tom Coller, Michael Cornell, Oliver Blake, Andy Wilson

A Final:  Although Barnably Pittingale led off the line, he soon fell back into a frantic fifth place battle, eventually losing a lap.  Scott Allen sliced through this pack, moving up to gain third from Rodgers.  Adam Constable’s early lead was lost to Cole, but he had more than enough points in the bag for the title.  Josh Mullholland was black-flagged for making rude gestures.

Results: Cole, Constable, Allen, Rodgers, Luke Caudle, Scott Malvern.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Intermediate

Heat winners: Matt Bell, Martyn Lyell, Ayrton Pankiw.

A Final:  Bell needed a top three finish to win the series, the early lead changing from Callum Holland to Chris Evans then Bell.  The vice-champion position was thought to be safe for Pankiw after he stormed up from grid 9 to lead by a second, only to be excluded from the meeting for an engine irregularity.  James Birch had an even more impressive run, from 19 to 3, which became second.

Results: Bell, Birch, Holland, Lyell, Joe Forsdyke, Mark Hobson.

Tal-Ko Formula TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: James Sibbet, Carl Willoughby, Chris Needham.

A Final: Paul Granger swiftly grabbed the lead from Needham with Wesley Dowling pressuring and eventually passing Sibbet for third.  Then Needham, comfortably in second, received the mechanical flag for his loose rear bumper and he had to pit.

Results: Granger (pictured below), Dowling, Sibbet, Willoughby, Alex Shackleton, Ryan Fleming.

Tal-Ko Formula Junior TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: Michael Cox x 2, Rhys Jenkins.

A Final:  Jenkins made a great start, but Cox sliced up the inside at Christmas Corner, Jenkins dropping to third behind Dafydd Iles.  An eight kart queue built up with Cox grimly holding onto the lead and only Tom Bridge seemed to have the knack of coming through, to third.  When Bridge started battling with Iles, Cox was able to draw away to win the series for the third time.

Results: Cox, Iles, Bridge, Jenkins, Tom Truscott, Danny Osborne.

Mill Mutterings

Will Waterman was lying a handy fourth in the Junior TKM Final, and aiming for third in the series, when his chain came off forcing retirement.

Ayrton Pankiw was too late to appeal against his exclusion.

Paul Carr took the senior and junior titles for Venom, the juniors after a long run with JKH.  But John Hoyle had the concellation of the Intermediates.  Jade took the junior 4-stroke for the third time, but the seniors went to MS Kart.
