B4/Elf Super One TKM Series 5/6: Larkhall : 21.8.05

No titles were settled, so an exciting last round is assured. Jake Packun won the Junior TKM from Marcus Allen, whilst in Extreme Ryan Cole’s win from the fourth row gave him his highest points score of the season. As Intermediate points leader Ayrton Pankiw struggled, Martyn Lyell swooped to victory. Michael Cox sealed his second consecutive Junior 4-stroke victory, Simon Mills fought back from a small mistake to take the Senior 4-stroke win in style.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula Jnr. TKM

Heat winners: Jake Packun, Marcus Allen, Jordan Williams.

A Final: After a bit of a scrap, Packun decided to work with Allen to pull away from the rest. Then he realised he had better get past and set the seal on victory, although Allen kept right with him. Williams managed to break clear of Daniel Graham and Max Buckley’s scrap for fourth. Will Waterman had meanwhile dropped back to seventh.

Results: Packun, Allen, Williams, Graham, Buckley, James Tucker.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Extreme

Heat winners: Shaun Carter, Mickey Higham, Adam Constable, Rossi.

B Final: Steven Bartlett, Alex Jones, Zack Daines, Paul Monks.

A Final: A first corner fracas sidelined James Duxbury, and jumped Cole from grid 7 to 4th, from where he hunted down Scott Allen, Charles Bonsey and then took the lead from Constable. Higham waited for the last corner to attack, diving past both Carter and Constable tor 2nd. Paul Janes had been on the front row, but he retired early on.

Results: Cole, Higham, Carter, Constable, Scott Allen, Charles Bonsey.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Intermediate

Heat winners: Joe Morrison, James Birch, Matthew Bell.

A Final: Starting from the second row, Scottish expert Martyn Lyell swooped into the lead and pulled a winning 2.5s gap. Mark Hobson left Matthew Bell and Callum Holland behind to dice over third place. Ayrton Pankiw could do no better than 8th.

Results: Lyell, Hobson, Bell, Holland, Birch, Rob Carter.

Tal-Ko Formula TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: Paul Granger, Sam Dimelow, Simon Mills.

A Final: A mistake by polesitter Mills let Granger into the lead, but a determined Mills fought back strongly to lead again. Granger was sucked into the battle behind, and had lost the pace to stay in front. One by one he was passed by Sam Dimelow, James Sibbett and Carl Willoughby. Sibbet dived through for 2nd with a few laps in hand.

Results: Mills, Sibbet, Dimelow, Willoughby, Granger, Matthew Pritchard.

Tal-Ko Formula Junior TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: Danny Osborne, Tom Truscott, Michael Cox.

A Final: Cox stayed in winning mode, making the top of the points table very tight with his lights to flag victory. It was all change behind, Dafydd Isles losing first his second place to Kieran Vernon, then more as he slumped to seventh. Tom Bridge had stormed up to 4th from the back, George Blundell following him as far as 6th. Championship leader and heat winner Tom Truscott fell to almost last.

Results: Cox, Vernon, Osborne, Tom Bridge, Rhys Jenkins, Blundell.

Scottish snippets

Junior TKM racer James Tucker competed with a broken collar bone, sustained whilst falling off his bicycle. He drove through the pain barrier to a creditable sixth place.

There were only three penalties recorded, two time penalties and one reprimand.
