Warden Law TKM ABkC Round 4: 3.7.05

NEWSLETTER

With two rounds to go, Jesse Smart is hanging on at the top of the Junior TKM points table from Daniel Graham and Will Waterman, but it was James Dixon who showed the rest the way home, for his best result of the year. Despite being lapped after a tangle, Scott Malvern is ahead overall in Extreme, with this round’s winner Adam Constable rushing up and looking strong in second.

Ayrton Pankiw is looking good in Inters, although Mark Hobson won at Warden Law. The senior 4-strokers table is very close between Paul Granger, Simon Mills – after his win – and Alex Shackleton, whilst Tom Truscott was just pipped for the maximum points score by winner Michael Cox.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula Jnr. TKM

Heat winners: James Tucker, Marcus Allen, Will Waterman.

A Final: Initial leader Tucker dropped back to leave a three way lead battle between Daniel Graham, James Dixon and Will Waterman, the latter dropping out. Dixon timed a late spurt perfectly for the win, whilst Lindsay Butcher stormed up to 3rd from grid 18.

Results: Dixon, Graham, Butcher, Elliot Burton, Tucker

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Extreme

Heat winners: Adam Constable x 2, Adam Rodgers, Ryan Cole.

B Final: Andy Wilson, Tom Coller, Zack Daines, Tom Dix.

A Final: Scott Malvern led James Duxbury, Charles Bonsey and Rodgers with Allen and Constable towing up to slice through the lead group, Constable now in the lead. Malvern and Duxbury tangled, sending Malvern to nearly last. As Constable fled to a near three second win, Allen dropped to tenth with a stub axle bearing problem. Bonsey, Paul Janes and Rodgers were left to contest 2nd. Rossi powered through from grid 20 to 6th, catching Will Bullard.

Results: Constable, Bonsey, Janes, Rodgers, Bullard.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Intermediate

Heat winners: Mark Hobson, Ayrton Pankiw, Callum Holland.

A Final: Hobson enjoyed a dominant win whilst Matthew Bell recovered well from grid 16 to 3rd after losing a chain in a heat. Rob Carter recovered from a tardy start to come back to 2nd, but Pankiw faded to 9th.

Results: Hobson, Carter, Bell, Joe Forsdyke, Joe Morrison.

Tal-Ko Formula TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: Chris Needham, Paul Granger, Simon Mills.

A Final: Mills and Wesley Dowling had looked after their tyres the best, leaving the rest behind, whilst polesitter Granger faded to 8th. Matthew Pritchard charged up to 3rd from the back.

Results: Mills, Dowling, Pritchard, Needham, Carl Willoughby.

Tal-Ko Formula Junior TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: Tom Truscott x 2, Rhys Jenkins.

A Final: A typically fine drive, reminiscent of 2004, for Michael Cox as he protected his lead from the closely following Jenkins, Oliver Bourton and Danny Osborne. Kieran Vernon dropped almost to the back with a problem, then recovered to 6th, passing the points leader Truscott on the way.

Results: Cox, Jenkins, Bourton, Danny Osbourne, Joel Saunders.

North East noises

A second rolling lap gave Extreme runner Charles Bonsey the chance to restart his oiled up motor. He converted the opportunity to 2nd.

The senior 4-strokers reported quite high tyre wear at the circuit. But overall Karting North East’s circuit was very well received by the TKM ‘circus’.

The next TKM round is on 21st August at Larkhall.
