Fulbeck TKM ABkC Round 2: 24.4.05
NEWSLETTER
Matthew Bell continued his winning ways in Intermediate, emulating his
ICA namesake. Pile-ups punctuated the opening laps of both Junior TKM and
Extreme, Jake Packun and Jesse Smart missing the spinners in front of them
in the former, Shaun Carter and Scott Malvern clear in Extreme. Paul Granger
took a maiden Super One win in senior 4-stroke, whilst Kieran Vernon took
    the junior category.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula Jnr. TKM
Heat winners: James Tucker, Sam Snell, Jake Ball.
A Final: Jordan Williams spun entering the chicane, possibly helped from behind. Danny Fiske and another five karts were strewn about the track. Jake Packun and Jesse Smart escaped the carnage, trading the lead until Tucker caught up from grid 17, having displaced Will Waterman. Winner Packun defended strongly over the last couple of laps.
Results: Packun, Smart, Tucker, Waterman, Elliot Burton.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Extreme
Heat winners: Paul Janes, James Duxbury x 2, Richard Bond, Adam Rodgers.
B Final: Ryan Cole, Luke Caudle, Rossi, William Reed.
A Final: A 14 kart first corner pile-up scuppered the chances of half the field, the front row of Scott Malvern and Shaun Carter escaping. Adam Constable was left trapped behind the ailing Sam Wilson. His first try at Wilson was rebuffed, letting Michael Collins ahead. But eventually he was through and chasing Malvern, whilst Carter won. Cole set fastest lap charging through to fourth after qualifying from the B.
Results: Carter, Malvern, Constable, Cole, Andrew Wilkinson.
Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Intermediate
Heat winners: Matthew Bell x 2, Martyn Lyell.
A Final: Bell put his head down on the opening laps to create a gap. Ayrton Pankiw broke clear of a battle with Lyell for second, although all the excitement was for fourth, Zak Roseman finally in charge of that battle.
Results: Bell, Pankiw, Lyell, Roseman, Tom Brown.

Tal-Ko Formula TKM 4-stroke
Heat winners: Carl Willoughby, Wesley Dowling, Paul Granger.
A Final: Paul Granger pulled out a good gap, leading Simon Mills from the outset. The kart started to go off towards the end, but Granger had everything under control. Willoughby lucked in to fourth from a grid 13 start, missing the incident between Sam Dimelow and Chris Needham. But he fought a fierce battle with Chris Lipscomb to keep the place.
Results: Granger, Mills, Willoughby, Chris Lipscomb, Matthew Pritchard.

Tal-Ko Formula Junior TKM 4-stroke
Heat winners: Carly Latcham, Rhys Jenkins x 2.
A Final: Kieran Vernon led all the way except for a brief period when Emyr Honeybun was ahead. Carly Latcham was outmanoeuvred at the start, but regained her second place after a fight with Honeybun.
Results: Vernon, Latcham, Honeybun, Michael Cox, Jenkins.

Fulbeck Fulminations
Scrutineers were checking the maximum height of bodywork. The current
rule is simple, the old style sidepods and nose fairing should be no more
than 40mm from the ground with the driver in the kart. The new 08 CIK
sidepods are allowed 60mm. A new type nose on an old non-homologated front
bumper is still 40mm, but 60 if on a CIK front hoop. Next year it will be
    60mm maximum for all types.

Junior TKM joint points leader Jesse Smart was able to race to second
place after having laser treatment to his collar bone, broken at Three
    Sisters.

Dafydd Iles protested Emyr Honeybun’s driving in the Junior 4-stroke
final, resulting in Honeybun getting a reprimand and two points on his
licence. Being successful, Iles, who dropped from second to eleventh in the
incident, received back his protest fee.

The next TKM round is at Lydd on 22nd May.
