NEWSLETTER

How fortunes change! There were new winners in all the classes this weekend. After Gary Catt seized in the first final, Jason Parrott took both races, followed by top lady Tiffany Chittenden. Scott Jenkins dominated JICA whilst first ICA final winner Danny Cruttenden had to give second best to Richard Singleton in the other. Scott Baines was well on form in 100 National, and Nicholas Cristofaro won the usual close Cadet battle.

The points leaders in the Renault supported classes of Formula A, ICA and JICA have all earned themselves a visit to a Silverstone Formula 1 test day, guests of the Renault F1 team. The honour will go to Jason Parrott, Matthew Bell and Lee Bell.

Heats: Thomas Davis x2, Scott Baines.

A Final: Baines and Justin Edgar had a rare old battle until Davis caught them up and pushed Edgar out of second at the hairpin. Davis was summoned to the Clerk for exclusion, where he made matters worse by walking out of the hearing. The Stewards removed his licence for thirty days and referred the whole matter to the MSA for further considerations.

Results: Baines, M. Smith, D. Smith, Edgar, Luke Johnson.

Elf/B4 ABkC Formula Cadet

Heat winners: MacKenzie Taylor, Max Goff, Taylor, Ashley Jones.

A Final: Sam Jenkins was the early leader until Jones slipped inside at Top Bend. But a few laps later Nicholas Cristofaro, who had raced up from a grid eleven spot, eased into first, Frances Harrold following, and Jones could not make up the gap that had been created.

Results: Cristofaro, Harrold, Jones, Taylor, Sam Jenkins.

Richard Singleton crashed on the first lap of timed qualifying, so was consequently last on the grid for the heats.

Second round Cadet winner Max Goff was excluded from the meeting for an ineligible carburettor after a heat.

Cadet Spencer Barrow was fined £100 for disobeying an official, and had three points added to his licence.

Oliver Rowland and Will Stevens were put to the back of the first heat after three failed attempts to start the race. “They should not be flat out coming to the line,” said deputy Clerk of the Course Phil Cox.

Next MSA round is at Larkhall on 19th June.
