SENIOR S1 ROUND 3: 6.6.99
The fast very demanding
80mph Three Sisters circuit at Wigan was the
venue for round three of the Elf Hill House Hammond senior Super
one series.
Formula A
Timed qualifying for Formula A saw the Tecno of Stevie Morris
top of the
time sheet with a time of 42.44 sec from Matthew Griffin's
Tonykart with a
42.57 sec lap. In heat one Morris was adjudged to have used
excessive tyre
warming on the rolling lap and was put to the back of the grid.
He also
suffered a puncture but battled on to finshed fifteenth then went
onto win
heat three. The other heat winners were the Fullerton of Michael
Conway and
James Wright on a Wright kart. Final one saw Wright on pole with
Jason
Williams alongside but it was Morris who stormed through from
grid nine to
win, a great recovery drive after his earlier setback. Simon
Short climbed up from grid six to second with the front row next
in reverse order, Williams and Wright. Final two and
another maxium points score for Morris with Michael Conway in
second, Simon
Short enduring the race long attentions of Jamie Green's CRG in
third with
Green fourth. Chris Trott was excluded.

second on the
road but penalised five place's for overtaking under yellows.

briefy

look up the inside of Baker at Lunar bend with a lap to go, but
was unable
to make it stick.
