ELF HILL HOUSE HAMMOND S1 JUNIOR SERIES: LARKHALL
JUNIOR S1 ROUND 4 (5): 22.8.99
oliver Jarvis maintained his Junior MSA British Championship lead at Larkhall with a first and third in some very close fought racing. He took pole for the first final with his O'Neill Tonykart, ahead of Russell Love. Meanwhile his rivals Chris Rogers and Ben Hanley were still suffering from being put to the back of a restarted Heat 1 grid after a jumped start, and lined up fifth and sixth ahead of Alex Lloyd. The latter stormed through to second, ahead of Rogers, in the first final, Jarvis temporarily in second but coming through to win. Yet another clash with Alex Lloyd in Final 2 set Jarvis well back, but he made a great recovery for third. Chris Rogers took full advantage, winning from Ben Hanley. Local Paul Wilson set off in the lead of Formula Junior TKM from pole, but a wheel fell off his kart, letting James Hobbs through for a comfortable win. Richard Evans beat his arch-rival for the championship, Ben Clucas, with Niall Breen having the drive of the meeting to fourth from grid twenty and giving the Paul Carr Venom equipe three out of the top four places. Oliver Field enjoyed his first Super One win in Cadet, with Liam Walters taking Junior Yamaha from Daniel Deveraux and Craig Davies after fifth placed and points leader Ian Johnstone was helped into the crash barriers. There are now two rounds to go, at Fulbeck on 26 September and Buckmore Park on 10 October.
