ELF HILL HOUSE HAMMOND S1 JUNIOR SERIES: CLAY PIGEON

JUNIOR S1 ROUND 2: 30.5.99

JICA
Oliver Jarvis turned round his fourth in the first final at the Dorset track, won by Chris Rogers, to a win in the second and now leads the Junior British Kart Championship by twenty-five points. Russell Parkes topped the dry qualifying with 35.34s, from Jarvis (35.41), Rogers (35.48), Ben Hanley (35.51), James Kirkpatrick (35.61) and John Byrne ((35.66). Parkes went onto win the first heat, and his second in the wet third heat earned him pole, Jarvis alongside. Paul di Resta got his wet set up spot on to take the second heat, with Rogers winning the third. Joint points leader Ben Hanley's off left him to win the repechage and a late spin in the first final earned him few points. So Rogers soon overtook Parkes for the first final win, with an on-form Rodolpho Gonzalez taking third, as Jarvis' hands were full fending off di Resta. In the second, Rogers, Parkes and Jarvis left Alex Lloyd and Gonzalez behind. Jarvis deftly nipped past Parkes, then tracked Rogers for a lap or two before sweeping past for his win.

Formula Junior TKM

B Final: Robert Morris, Tom Thorpe, Ricky Wilson, Allan Kenyon

A Final:

As polesitter Richard Evans slipped away to sixth, Ben Clucas had no such problem dominating the Junior TKM final and vaulting into the points lead. Martin Smith and Nicky Mitchell followed him home with passes on Janathan Barnes and James Gornall. B Final winner Robert Morris made it up to eighth.

Formula Cadet

B Final: Matthew Owen, Freddie Martin-Dye, Oliver Turvey, Karl Moon

A Final:

The wet weather also turned up some new names in Cadet, with Daniel Rowbottom winning from erstwhile leader Simon Walker-Hansell. Polesitter Philip English slipped steadily down the order to sixth. Matthew Owen came all the way from winning the B final for third, ahead of Gary Salter.

Junior Yamaha

A Final:

Junior Yamaha was taken by Liam Walters, from grid eight, beating the front row lads of Jack Willis and poleman Ian Johnstone. Joshua Weber kept ahead of Daniel Deveraux.
